Dr Lindo Van Der Merwe is an experienced General Practitioner who grew up in South Africa and graduated in 1994. He completed his medical qualifications and postgraduate training across South Africa and the United Kingdom and holds qualifications including MBChB and MRCGP. He is a member of the Royal College of General Practitioners and the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners.

Dr Van Der Merwe enjoys the breadth of family medicine and caring for patients across all stages of life. His particular interests include paediatrics, older persons’ health, men’s health, family planning, cardiovascular health, diabetes management and weight management. He also has interests in asthma and allergies, dermatology, smoking cessation, workers’ compensation and ear, nose and throat (ENT) medicine. His approach incorporates preventative health, health assessments and chronic disease management alongside everyday general practice care.

Dr Van Der Merwe values continuity of care and the opportunity to develop long-term relationships with individuals and families. He takes a comprehensive, evidence-based approach to supporting each patient’s individual healthcare needs. Outside medicine, Dr Van Der Merwe enjoys spending time with family and friends and is a keen kite surfer.
